Driver of Overturned Vehicle Flees the Scene in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — A driver lost control of their vehicle causing it to flip. They then fled the scene.

The accident occurred earlier today near the 8000 block of South Padre Island Drive. According to authorities the driver of the grey sedan attempted to change lanes and nearly collided with another car. The near-accident caused the driver of the gray sedan to swerve off of the road. The vehicle then flipped over onto its roof.

According to eyewitness reports from kiii, the driver and a passenger in the vehicle got out of the overturned car and ran away from the accident on foot. Police have not provided any information as to why the occupants left the vehicle. Police reported no injuries as a result of the accident.
