Jackknifed 18-wheeler closes Interstate 37 in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX ā€” An 18-wheeler crashed on the highway on Friday morning in San Antonio.

According to FOXSanAntonio, the accident occurred on Interstate 37 a bit after midnight near Pecan Valley Drive. Weather conditions on the interstate made it difficult for the driver of the 18-wheeler to control his vehicle. He then skidded across the interstate before the 18-wheeler jackknifed. This caused the cabin to move out over the edge of the bridge.

According to police the driver safely escaped the vehicle without injury. Luckily, the accident damaged no other vehicles on the interstate. Police reported no injuries, but the accident shut down the highway for several hours.
