Motorcyclist killed in multi-vehicle crash in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – A motorcyclist was killed yesterday evening when he collided with a pickup truck and then a pair of oncoming cars, KSAT reports.

New Braunfels police say the multi-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of Highway 46 and Oak Run Point at about 5:45 p.m. on April 8.

Russell Camp III was riding his motorcycle east on TX 46 when he struck a pickup truck. That collision sent him into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by two oncoming vehicles.

A Comal County Sheriff’s deputy was first on the scene, and attempted life-saving measures. He was unsuccessful, and Camp was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 38 years old.

The 51-year-old female driver of one of the vehicles that hit Camp was taken to Christus New Braunfels Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Her current condition is unknown.

Westbound traffic on TX 46 was blocked for four hours as crews investigated and cleared the wreck.
