Officials identify pedestrian killed in West Side crash

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office have identified the man killed in a previously reported West Side pedestrian accident Tuesday night.

According to KSAT, 66-year-old Albert Baca was attempting to cross at the 9600 block of Potranco Road near the intersection with Dugas Drive.

Police at the scene say the driver was traveling through a green light when Baca stepped into the crosswalk and was struck. He was immediately rushed to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The driver involved, a 65-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. No charges are expected to be filed against her at this time.
