One dead after drunk driving accident leads to crash in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX — A drunk driving accident killed a passenger in San Antonio on Wednesday.

According to KSAT, the accident took place around seven in the evening on the Vance Jackson Road overpass on Loop 1604. The driver of a 2004 Dodge Durango crashed into a barrier on the overpass. The force of the crash then threw the passenger from the vehicle. Police say that he died instantly upon impact. Emergency medical services took a second passenger to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Police report no other injuries or deaths as a result of the crash. Police later claimed that the driver’s intoxication caused the accident. The driver is now facing charges of intoxication manslaughter and assault.
