Pedestrian struck and killed by car on Thursday night

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the access road to Loop 410 near Lord Road and Rigsby Avenue on Thursday night.

The accident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. when the driver of a red Chevrolet Malibu struck a man wearing dark clothing on the roadway.

The victim was about 40 years old and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The female driver stayed at the scene after calling for help and cooperated fully with officials. Alcohol was not involved.

The driver’s claim that she did not see the pedestrian was corroborated by another witness. Authorities noted that this section of the access road is dark and pedestrians are directed to stay off the roadway.
