Police Chase Ends in a Car Crash

EDINBURG, TX – Police officers were involved in a car chase Sunday night which began when a driver refused to cooperate with a standard police stop.

The chase started in Donna and ended near Edinburg when the driver crashed his vehicle on South Alamo Road near Curve Road. KRGV reports that the accident occurred during the night of Sunday, May 3.

The crash caused serious damage to the vehicle, and officers on the scene had to remove the driver from the car. The driver sustained significant and possibly life-threatening injuries, and he was air-lifted to the closest hospital. A passenger was not seriously injured.

Police say they will charge the driver when he is released from the hospital.
