Single-car crashes on Russel Drive

BROWNSVILLE, TX – A woman crashed her Ford on Russel Drive near Rainbow drive during a single-car accident early on Sunday morning.

The 29-year-old woman was driving a maroon 2013 Ford at approximately 2:30 a.m. on May 10. The Brownsville Police Department reports that the woman was speeding through a residential area when she lost control of her car.

The front end of the Ford crashed into an object on the street. The police have not released information about what the vehicle struck in the accident. However, the collision caused significant damage, and the car required a tow truck to remove it from the scene.

The driver sustained no injuries from the accident. She had no passengers in the vehicle, and there was no one on the street at the time of the crash.

The 29-year-old is facing a charge of failing to control speed.
