Stopped car on Highway 281 causes collision

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A Volvo stopped suddenly on Highway 281, causing a collision and injuring three people.

The silver 2008 Volvo came to a halt on the highway near Dee Howard Way at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Monday, May 11. A 60-year-old man driving a silver 2009 Chevrolet could not stop his vehicle quickly enough to avoid an accident.

The Chevrolet’s front bumper crashed into the Volvo’s rear bumper. The collision caused significant damage to both cars, and the drivers had to call a tow truck to remove the vehicles from the road.

An officer from the San Antonio Police Department reported that the Chevrolet’s driver sustained injuries during the crash. The 26-year-old Volvo driver and a 26-year-old passenger were also injured. The police officer did not report the types of injuries or their severity.

The police determined that the Volvo was at fault for the accident because the driver came to an unsafe stop on a high-speed road.
