Truck driver killed after fiery rollover collision in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A man died after being pinned inside a tanker truck following a rollover crash on Thursday night.

According to KSAT, the accident occurred along the northbound I-37 access road near Loop 1604.

Police at the scene say the unidentified male driver of a tanker truck carrying syrup or molasses lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail before overturning it in the roadway.

The truck immediately burst into flames with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters were not able to rescue the man in time and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A minivan was clipped by the tanker during Thursday’s San Antonio trucking accident. The driver of that vehicle did not sustain any significant injury.
