Two vehicles collide with fallen light pole

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Early on Friday morning, two cars crashed into a light pole that had fallen and blocked the roadway on the IH-10 access road.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on May 22, two drivers crashed into a light pole which had fallen at some point during the night. The pole was that was blocking the access road to IH-10 westbound near Callaghan Road and Medical Drive. According to KSAT 12, the drivers did not see the light pole before it was too late to stop their cars.

Police officers on the scene report that one of the cars sustained major damage to the front bumper. The second vehicle, a silver sedan, had three flat tires but no other obvious damage to the body of the car.

No one in the silver sedan sustained injuries in the accident. However, the driver in the other car injured her arm when the airbag deployed during the crash.

Emergency crews blocked at least one lane of the access road while they worked to clear the scene.
