UPDATE: 2 arrested after fatal crash at VIA bus stop

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Two people were arrested Thursday after their vehicle crashed into a VIA bus stop in San Antonio, killing a pedestrian on Thursday.

According to KSAT, the crash occurred at the bus stop within the 800 block of Culebra Road.

Investigators say a female driver and her male passenger were attempting to pass another when their vehicle ran up the curb and crashed into the pedestrian and bus stop. The vehicle then came to rest when it careened into a nearby fence.

Both occupants attempted to flee on foot but were caught soon after. The driver was charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid. The male occupant is facing drug and weapons charges.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is unavailable at this time.
