Update: Authorities release more info concerning fatal crash at Mission City Container

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police have released additional details concerning the fatal accident at Mission City Container on Monday morning, KSAT reports.

The crash occurred at 1810 S Laredo St. Emergency crews arrived at the scene around 3 a.m. and found the victim badly hurt in her car. It appeared her head had slammed into the windshield.

Firefighters had to cut through the car’s window to extricate the 27-year-old victim. She succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported to the hospital.

Officers now believe speed may have been a factor in the collision. They came to that conclusion after reconstructing the scene using spray paint to map out the car’s path. The vehicle traveled from the westbound lanes to the other side of the street, where it collided with a loading dock.

Relatives of the victim said she was on her way home from a family gathering and could have fallen asleep at the wheel before the accident.

The Medical Examiner has not yet identified the victim.
