SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police have released the woman’s name who died after crashing into the loading dock at Mission City Container early Monday morning, KSAT reports.
First responders were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Laredo St after receiving reports of the crash around 3 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered Velia Alejandra Camarillo, 26, in her car.
Firefighters cut through the window to extricate Camarillo from the vehicle. Paramedics attempted to revive the woman after she was removed from the car, but they failed.
Investigators believe that Camarillo was driving westbound Laredo St when her car began straying into the eastbound lanes before slamming into the loading dock.
Camarillo attended a family function before the accident. Her relatives say she may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
The wreck is still under investigation.
