UPDATE: Man killed in Converse head-on crash identified

CONVERSE, TX – According to KSAT, the man who was killed in a head-on crash near Converse on Tuesday has been identified.

In an update to a previous story, Bret Alexander Wiseman, 26, died at the scene of the crash around 5 p.m., according to officials at the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Converse police said witnesses reported a man driving erratically in the northbound lanes of Farm-to-Market Road 1516 near Binz-Engleman Road. Witnesses claim Wiseman entered the southbound lanes of FM 1516 in an attempt to pass slower drivers in the northbound lanes.

Wiseman then collided head-on with another vehicle traveling southbound, according to witnesses. Police say three people were inside the southbound vehicle.

Authorities say Wiseman is believed to have been at fault.

The three people in the southbound vehicle were taken to the hospital.
