SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police have arrested both drivers involved in a wrong-way collision on the Wurzbach Parkway early Thursday morning.
According to the San Antonio Express-News, police suspect both drivers to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The incident happened on the Northeast side at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday morning, when a 2001 Nissan Altima traveling the wrong direction on Wurzbach collided head-on into a 2021 GMC Terrain near Buzzi Way.
The driver of the GMC attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended near Heroes Stadium. Police say he had an out-of-county warrant out for his arrest, and faces charges of possession of marijuana, DWI and failure to stop and render aid.
The Nissan’s 29-year-old driver had to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. He has been charged with DWI.
