Vehicle crashes into utility pole, catches fire on Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police and firefighters in San Antonio responded to a single-vehicle crash and ensuing fire early Monday morning.

According to KSAT, the crash occurred within the 12300 block of Nacogdoches Road near the intersection with Perrin Beitel Road at about 5:30 a.m.

Police say the unidentified female driver lost control of her vehicle and collided with a power pole. The vehicle began to smoke and catch fire immediately after the crash.

The woman was able to escape the vehicle safely. She was assessed by paramedics at the scene.

An official investigation into the cause of the collision remains underway as of Monday evening.
