Victim identified in fatal Northwest Side pedestrian accident

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Officials with the San Antonio Police Department have released the identity of the elderly man killed while crossing a street in the Northwest Side Thursday night.

According to My San Antonio, 61-year-old Fred Lee Cameron was attempting to cross within the 1220 block Bandera Road away from the designated crosswalk shortly before 11 p.m.

The driver of a lifted Dodge Ram pickup truck attempted to swerve out of Cameron’s path but ended up fatally striking the man.

The driver immediately fled the scene of the crash. No further details regarding their identity have been released. If found, they will face charges of failure to stop and render aid.
