SAN ANTONIO, TX – Police responded to a fatal pedestrian accident north of downtown San Antonio late Sunday night.
According to KTSA, the incident occurred within the northbound lanes of West Avenue near the intersection with Jackson Keller Road at about 10:30 p.m.
Investigators say an unidentified woman was lying in the roadway when a pickup truck struck her as she was sitting up. She was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
It is unclear why the woman was lying in the middle of the road. However, the driver stopped to render aid and is cooperating with the investigation into this North-Central San Antonio pedestrian accident. No charges are expected.
