Woman hospitalized after suspected smuggler crashes near Kingsville

EDINBURG, TX – A woman was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after the pickup truck she was riding in crashed into a gas pipeline on private property, KIII reports.

Authorities believe that the woman is a migrant, and say the truck’s driver, a suspected smuggler, did not contact medical services following the collision.

Border Patrol agents had attempted to pull over the black Chevrolet pickup in question, but lost it after it plowed through a gate and entered private property.

They eventually found the truck near a leaking gas pipeline three hours later. The injured woman was located about 30 yards away. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident at this time.
