Wrong-way crash on I-37 leaves 1 dead, 3 hospitalized

SAN ANTONIO, TX – One driver was killed and three others were hospitalized following a wrong-way crash along I-37 early Sunday morning, KSAT reports.

The accident took place at about 12:30 a.m. within the southbound lanes of I-37, just north of I-410.

Investigators believe the at-fault driver was traveling north in the southbound lanes of the freeway when they struck another vehicle head-on. The vehicle then overturned and crashed into the median.

Firefighters were forced to use the Jaws of Life to pull the driver from his vehicle. He was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The second vehicle involved was carrying three individuals. They were all taken to Brooke Army Medical Center with serious injuries.
