Wrong-way driver causes head-on collision in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – Two people were transported to the hospital after a wrong-way driver collided head-on with another vehicle on North Padre Island Drive Wednesday morning.

According to KIII, the crash occurred at about 2:15 a.m. when the 44-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet van was travling south in the northbound lanes of N. Padre Island Dr. near the Joe Fulton Corridor.

Officers attempted to catch up to the man before he collided with another vehicle but were unable to catch him in time.

Both the man responsible and the other driver were rushed to a local hospital where their conditions remain unknown at this time.
