MERCEDES, TX – KRGV reports that the teen driver of an ATV died following a rollover crash on Dawson Rd north of Mile 9 N Rd Sunday.
The 14-year-old girl was speeding on Dawson Rd in a Polaris Ranger XP 1000 when she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over. It landed on the driver.
Dispatchers sent first responders to the crash site after receiving calls concerning the wreck around 11:20 a.m. They pronounced the teen dead at the scene of the accident and transported the teen’s two female passengers to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
