Speeding crash on IH-2 causes injury

PHARR, TX – A speeding GMC and a Chevrolet crashed while driving on Interstate Highway 2 on Monday morning, causing at least one injury.

An officer from the Pharr Police Department reported that the incident occurred at 8:41 a.m. on May 11. A silver 2015 GMC and a black 2007 Chevrolet were driving on IH-2 near U.S. Business 83 when they collided. The GMC was speeding on the highway, and the police believe this caused the crash.

The front-left portion of the GMC struck the Chevrolet’s back bumper and caused significant damage. The Chevrolet sustained the majority of the damage in the accident. However, both vehicles needed tow-truck assistance after the incident.

An officer on the scene reported that at least one of the drivers suffered an injury in the accident. They have not released any information about the driver or their injury at this time.

The driver in the GMC will be held responsible for the damages and injuries the crash caused.
