Update: More information released on deadly drag racing crash at airport

KERRVILLE, TX – A third person has died following the deadly crash at a drag racing event held at Kerrville-Kerr County Airport Saturday, CBS reports.

Michael Gonzales, 34, was racing a Ford Mustang when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the runway and into the crownd of spectators who were watching the race from a grassy area. The Mustang finally came to a rest after colliding with a trailer.

Two boys, a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old, died at the scene. Rebecca Cedillo, 46, died at a hospital in San Antonio.

Seven other people, including the race car driver, were injured in the accident. Mary Kate Walls, 27, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. She is now in fair condition.

The current condition of the other injured victims is unclear at this time.
