Update: Police release more details on fatal crash at Wurzbach Pkwy and Weidner Rd

SAN ANTONIO, TX – More information has been released concerning the fatal crash involving a bicyclist at Wurzbach Pkwy and Weidner Rd on Thursday morning, KENS reports.

Two cyclists, a male and the unidentified 39-year-old female victim, were attempting to cross Wurzbach Rd around 6:30 a.m. when the female cyclist was struck by a male driver who was on his way to drop off his children at school.

After the woman was struck, the male cyclist pulled out a machete on the driver. A witness to the accident then pulled out a gun in an attempt to diffuse the situation.

Police say they will not charge the driver for the accident since he had the right of way when the collision happened. It is unknown if the male cyclist or the witness will face any charges.
