UPDATE: Suspect arrested in fatal hit-and-run crash

EDINBURGH, TX – A suspect was arrested in connection to a fatal hit-and-run, according to The Monitor.

In an update to a previous story, Daniel Alberto Najera, 28, was arrested Thursday and charged with failure to stop and render aid.

The accident happened on Brush Line Road and Farm-to-Market Road 2812 around 10:17 p.m. May 30th. According to a news release, a preliminary investigation revealed a 22-year-old male pedestrian was struck by Najera’s silver 2013 Chevrolet Impala while attempting to cross FM 2812.

The identity of the deceased male has not been released, but the release said the deceased was a Mexican national.

Najera was taken to Hidalgo County Jail and booked.
